How does a Dishwasher work?
The dishwasher has 2 baskets known as the upper basket and lower basket. The Upper basket should be loaded with small crockery’s such as cups, saucers; glass, etc., and the lower basket should be loaded with big oily utensils like serving plates, bowls, gravy, and vegetable utensils, etc. All the utensils placed should be placed upside down in the baskets facing towards the spray arms. After the dishwasher is loaded we need to add the detergent and select the program where the spray arms rotate by spraying hot water on utensils. After the cleaning process is over the machine drains out the dirty water and intakes fresh water for rinsing and then also helps in drying.
How many utensils can be washed?
The dishwasher as a category is measured in PLACE SETTINGS. The standard capacity available is 12 place settings. The loading capacity of this dishwasher is said to be 96 pieces of DINNER set. For mixed load, we can place 35 to 40 Indian style utensils depending upon the volume and also cutleries like forks, spoons etc. in the given basket.
Which kind of utensils cannot be washed in a dishwasher?
Gold
Silver
Aluminum
Brass
Copper
Copper Based
Bronze
Acrylic
Iron (Rusting)
Wooden (Swelling)
Why?
The reason why the above-mentioned utensils cannot be washed is that they will discolor and may damage the utensils. The utensils which are burnt utensils we have to scrub manually and then we can use it in a dishwasher. The fine designer crockeries are also not recommended in the dishwasher. The plastics which can be used in the micro-wave can also be used in the dishwasher.
Do we Need to Pre-Rinse with water before placing it in Dishwasher?
Answer: No! While loading the dishwasher we do not have to pr rinse the utensils. We just have to remove the bigger leftover remains and load the utensils. The rest particles get collected in the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher.
Do we require any special detergent or any local detergent can be used? Where and how can we get it?
Detergent: It is very important to use correct and suitable detergent for a dishwasher. The detergent recommended for the dishwasher is of brand BOSH/FINISH. The reason being it does not create FOAM. The use of any other detergents specifies as a dishwasher detergent can be tried. The tablets/cubes which we get in the dishwasher are complimentary from the manufacturing plant. The company does not provide these cubes. One tablet/cube is for one wash only. The tablet/cube is a mixture of detergent, salt, and rinse aid. In the market, these tablets/cubes are rarely available. The detergent, rinse aid and dishwashing salt are available separately from the hyper/supermarkets.
The Rinse Aid is used to avoid spots on the utensils caused by water drops. It reduces the surface tension of the water which allows the water to run off quickly and results in better drying of the utensils.
The Dishwashing Salt is used to soften the hard water. The local rock salt is not recommended in the dishwasher. Iodised or table salt is not recommended in the dishwasher. Only salt does not help to reduce water hardness it is done with the help of an Ioniser/resin container which is located at the base and besides the salt container (as shown in the image below). The capacity of the salt tank is approx. 1 Kg
